Craftiness....

Made something fun today.
Started with a rather gaudy mirror I found in the red tag section at good will for a few bucks.
And I ended up with this little treasure. It was seriously so easy. I just bought the mirror, a tiny can of red paint, and chalk board paint (who knew?). You unscrew the mirror from the frame and paint, let them both dry overnight and them put them back together in the morning. Piece-o-cake.

Yay for crafts.

The Story of the Vacuum

I literally never thought I would say this, but... I am so excited to get our new vacuum cleaner.
It has been a long time coming....
About two months into our marriage my husband and I decided we needed to complete our new family with a pet so we went to the humane society and adopted Bella.  Bella is cuddly and quirky and besides her bewitching hours that seems to only occur on the nights I need sleep the most, she has been a wonderful cat. However over this year we have realized that Bella has a large amount of fur that refuses to stay attached to her body and sadly my 25 dollar vacuum cleaner was no match for Bella. But finally, a few weeks ago we found a vacuum cleaner called the Bissel Pet hair eraser! It was a match made in heaven, until we found out that this heaven costs 150 bucks. Lame.
So we proceeded to put together some items to sell in a Garage sale that our friends were putting together. Ironically, the only thing that sold in the garage sale was our vacuum. So we had 25 bucks and no vacuum.
Didn't see that one coming. But thankfully, like in every good happy ending my knight in shining armor came to the rescue.A few days ago I was surprised with an email that my husband bought us a gently used Bissel pet hair eraser off of ebay. So in 7 to 10 business days my cat hair problem will be solved and we will live happily ever after. The end.

Guitars, Pearls and Cupcakes explained.

This is the story of my life.
I am a girl living in a city I love, with the man I love, attempting to do what I love. Now "attempting" is the key word in that sentence. This blog shall be the stories of my attempts and there shall be many.
So what is it that I love to do, you may ask? Well I am an odd one, not the average wife in pearls. Because not only do I love to shop and cook like many do, I am a musician. I love to strum my guitar as loud as possible and turn my amp to eleven. (Spinal Tap reference, watch it now)

So, this blog will be my ramblings on cooking (learning to cook), marriage (learning to be married), shopping (oh i know how to shop) and my ever-growing obsession for music.

Hope you enjoy the window into this sweet season of my life.
